The Countdown to Fit

Week 4 done. Welcome week 5. The countdown to the fit test is here. 1 week to go until the next fit test / weigh in. This will be the true measure of how far I have come in five weeks (4 regular weeks plus one recovery week)

I can tell you that already in four weeks (which really is nothing, think how quickly a month goes by) I'm already seeing great changes in my body, in how I feel, and in how my clothes fit. Plus the scale agrees, I am losing weight.

This next week is going to be especially challenging as I figure out a way to incorporate running. I am NOT a runner, I have never enjoyed it, but I have come to terms with the fact that it would be nice not to loathe it, so to make it fun I am challenging myself to do a couple 'fun runs' this year to give me something to reach for. So even 5k is something I need to train for (go ahead, make fun of me).

This is my workout schedule for the week:

Happy Monday! Make it happen!

I am also back!

I am back and ready for action. So I have been a stay at home mom for 4 years now and I have loved it.  My children are getting old enough now that I feel I can leave them more and it's nice because my husbands schedule is not a normal work week so I can now go to school. I have always wanted to finish my degree and now I can. I started in the spring which is one of the reasons I have not really had time to post (or exercise for that matter). I am taking a Psychology class and learning how incredibly important exercise is for our total well being. So I have decided to suck it up and do it!!

I am also a little hesitant to share my weight because I am so embarrassed at how heavy I am. I now weigh more than I ever have in my life. I am going to share them anyways and we can celebrate together when I get to say I will never be this heavy again.

Weight: 178 lbs. (Healthy range is 118-159)
Height: 5' 7"
Bust (in 2 sports bras): 41"
Waist: 38"
Hips: 42 1/4"
BMI: 27.9 Overweight (Healthy range is 18.5-24.9)

So I have a lot of work to do. I am going to start a 6 month long stint to get myself in better shape. I am going to start with a Couch 2 5K program and eating healthier (cutting out excess sweets and soda) this will take 2 months. Then I am going to start doing a more intense Jillian Michaels workout and diet. Once I can do these workouts full time and feel really good, I am expecting this will take about 2 months maybe more, I will start insanity. Insanity is a 60 day diet and exercise program. I am sure you have seen the commercials. So this is be a process and it's not going to be quick or easy but I am looking for a life change and something thats going to last not just a quick fix. So by the end of September I will be a whole new person that hopefully you will not recognize. I am excited! I am taking pictures but I am not going to post them until there are some good results that can been seen because right now it would just gross you out!! Wish me luck, and remember "Every excuse is a choice to fail." -Someone smart.
